It has been almost 2 years, but Joe and I will be tying the knot at the end of May. According to my friends and family, this was one of the cutest wedding proposals they had ever seen. Here is basically how it went. On Sunday, May 28, 2017, Joe and I were attending the Fanime Convention in San Jose, CA. The day started out with Joe and I meeting with my friend, Steph, to celebrate her birthday breakfast. After we had walked around downtown San Jose and the convention hall, I had to return to working at Stage Zero. Meanwhile, Joe met up with Chris (his best friend) and Steph to go over the proposal. Stage Zero is known for playing games with the con-goers, live performances, and video game tournaments. Joe had coordinated with Wendell (her boss) and Kayla Chen (one of the supervisors) to set up a game of quick draw right before the Maid Cafe Song and Dance performance. In QuickDraw, two artists have 1 - 3 minutes to draw 1-2 models; and then the audience decides on who their favorite is. Joe and I were dressed up as Ash and Misty from Pokemon and were "asked" to be the models for this game of quick draw. Little did I know, Joe had planned for all of this to be the part of the proposal. Wendell had introduced Jamie and Joe as the models of the game, afterwards, Wendell and Seanie (the veteran host) chose 2 artists to "draw" us as Ash and Misty. The count down began, and the artists began to "draw" the both of us. With ten seconds left, Wendell and Sean rallied the crowd to count down to zero. Sean and Kayla grabbed the whiteboards from the artists only to reveal the words "Will You" and "Marry Me?" written in big letters with hearts around it. As I saw those words on the whiteboards, I turned around to find Joe on one knee with the ring in a Pokeball in one hand and a microphone in the other hand. as he said "Jamie, Will You Marry Me?" It took me a second to assess the situation, but I immediately said "yes". Check out the video of how it went. Please note, I am a very gullible person and was definitely surprised when it happened.
